Preparing

In Oct. of 2008, I received a call from Lifeway to work at their summer camp for the 4th summer in a row. I was completely excited because for the first 3 summers I was the Video Producer, which is a great position, but I knew it was time for a change if I were to continue to work at the camps. Once I received the call, I was offered the position as Program Director. This is a position that I have always wanted to take part in because I love being behind the scenes of stage performances and working out the technical aspects of worship etc. As the months went on, I did not hear much information about the summer. All I knew was that I would be traveling all over the place. Finally about a month and a half ago I heard from my director and got what information she knew about the team I will be serving with for the summer. Not too long after our chat I heard from my coordinator and got some more information. This was starting to be an exciting adventure to say the least. While chatting with Kevin, the coordinator, I mentioned that I had done a good bit of acting in the past and also that I was a photographer. This tid bit of information might come back to haunt me, but within the next couple of days I had assumed the roles of Actor, Photographer, and Bible study leader to go along with my original Program Director status. Now it is coming to 2 days before I leave for a training weekend and I do not feel ready at all to take on this venture. I will have 3 weeks to finally prepare myself for the exciting summer but it will be 100% God if I make it to that level of readiness. I had mentioned that I will be traveling around for the summer and I should probably let known my locations that I will be going: I start in Nashville to pick up the equipment, then drive to Maryland for training week and 2 weeks of camp, then I travel down to either Carson Newman, TN or Ridgecrest, NC. After a week at one of these locations I spend the next 4 weeks in West Virginia, Michigan, Wyoming, and Oregon. Then its back to Nashville to complete the summer. Please pray for me as I will be pushed to my limits and overly tired after driving these long distances, but I will not be alone, the other 9 super staffers will be right beside me and we will be helping each other through our wonderful adventure.
